Pub gardens
If you fancy whiling away an afternoon over a drink in the sunshine, try The Half Moon on North Street with its secret garden and courtyard or The Star on Bridge Street, complete with beer garden and beach huts.
Riverside locations
For a drink by the water, how about Wetherspoons on Adderley Road? Skew opposite, offers fine dining at covered riverside tables.
Street-side tables
For watching the world go by, try Olyra Greek Bakehouse on Riverside, Cafe Mocha on Devoils Lane, Cafe da da and Paisa Wine Bar on the corner of Northgate End or Coffee House on South Street.
Hidden terraces
As well as pavement tables on pretty North Street, including The Bishop’s Cave and Pizza Express, Franco Manca and Cote have spacious gardens tucked away to the rear.
Sun or shade?
If you’re in search of a sun trap, head to Market Square where you’ll find Rosey Lea Tearooms, Pircio, The Dog’s Head and Host nearby at The Old Corn Exchange.
For a shady spot, and ideal for dogs too, visit Cafe Thyme in The Dells between South Street and Jackson Square.
