The Bishop’s Stortford BID in conjunction with the Bishop’s Stortford Town Council organised a window competition to show off the fabulous efforts so many people have gone to.
Shops and businesses were asked to enter their Jubilee window display into the competition and make a voluntary donation of £10 to one of the Queen’s Charities. These range from well-known charities such as the British Red Cross, smaller charities like the Reedham Children’s Trust, to regiments in the Armed Forces.
We were delighted to have 20 shops enter and we very much enjoyed seeing their beautiful windows.
Each window was scored out of 10 by the judges individually, and then the results were added to together to produce a combined score. Judges were Cllr Dave Anderson, Mayor of Bishop’s Stortford, Gina Thomas, BID Manager, Adrian Bradshaw from The Flyer and Lorraine Perry and Danielle Reilly from CM23 Magazine.
Congratulations to the winners Barnes Flooring on South Street. We were really impressed with the creativity and work that had gone into their display, which was all made from carpet.
Second Place was awarded to Heads You Win on Church Street and third place was Café Thyme, we loved their beautiful ribbons around the windows.
Mayor Cllr Dave Anderson presented Alan Gott of Barnes Flooring a Jubilee Hamper for the staff team, containing treats from Marks and Spencer, Mr Simms and the Tourist Information Centre.
Thanks to all the wonderful businesses who entered, donated to charity and created the brilliant jubilee windows.
