To celebrate Hertfordshire Libraries Centenary year, Bishop’s Stortford Library are hosting a ‘Join the Library Weekend’ with the aim of signing up 100 new members across the two days. So, if you are new to the area, or just never got around to getting your own library card, come along and explore our many services and resources.

First 50 people through the door each day will receive a sweet treat courtesy of Waitrose and Tesco!
Activities on the Saturday include:
10:15am – Baby Rhyme Time
11am – Children’s Craft Club
1pm – Lego 100 piece challenge – family drop-in
2pm – Poetry workshops – drop-in and write an 11 word poem in 11 minutes
4pm – Poetry open mic
An escape room in a box, Escape the Library, is available to book for teams of up to 6 people, ages 8+ and costs £10 per team, at 10am, 11:30, 1pm and 2:30pm. Book now to avoid disappointment!
The Bishop’s Stortford Ukelele Society will perform at 12:30 and 1:30 and St Michael’s school choir will be singing at 2:30pm.
We will be joined by the Bishop’s Stortford Museum and other local organisations across the weekend.
Activities on the Sunday include:
12pm – Poetry workshops – drop-in and write an 11 word poem in 11 minutes
2pm – Classic family favourite stories, followed by a craft activity.
There will be board games and puzzles available to play from 12pm and a special Dungeons and Dragons event from 2pm.

Our volunteer Digital Champions will be available from 12 – 4pm to offer advice on tech and showcase the online library resources and our Hublets.
Visitors to the library will be able to view the ‘Through the Decades’ short film and exhibition created especially in celebration of the centenary of Hertfordshire Libraries.
